We used Artificial Intelligence and Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) technology to develop the visual language for the upcoming feature-length documentary, DEFIANT, directed by Oscar-nominated director Karim Amer.
DEFIANT chronicles Ukraine's fight against Russia’s invasion, by combatting disinformation. We developed a digital landscape within the film to represent media frontlines and the online battle to break through Russian narratives.
While the film is rooted in Ukraine’s struggle, it offers wider insights into what it means in today’s world to conduct a war of words.
Through this exploration we created “locations” for the data space which illustrates the tactics Ukrainians use online, our map of the conflict and historical boardlines, and a disinformation space representing the media produced by the Russian government.
Through our RnD, we explored contrasting the disinformation headlines permeating global news cycles against the reality of what Ukrainians are experiencing.
